About Will
Its the quiet ones you have to watch out for.
Will Hardesty was born at the tender age of zero and raised in the rolling nineteen-seventies-themed wonderland of western Kentucky. The fifth of six children, he learned at an early age that no one cared what he had to say. And so he said little. But he watched and noticed the absurdities of life. Absurdities which only increased as the 70's became the 80's and the 80's gave way to the 90's.
In high school, he was voted Most-Likely-to-Surprise-Everyone-By-Ironically-Embarking-on-a-Career-in-Show-Business. Little did his classmates realize how true their prediction would become. Or perhaps they did. It was a confusing award.
As the shy, awkward boy blossomed into a shy, awkward man, he moved from his bucolic hometown to the (relatively) bustling metropolis of Louisville. There he found the perfect place for someone with low ambition and poor social skills – a comedy club.
It was there that his willingness to work for minimum wage was rewarded with a bartending job. And soon after beginning that job, people began to notice that this young man had a heretofore unsuspected talent: he made an excellent Manhattan.
Like everyone who has worked in or near comedy, Will began to think “I could do that.” And so he went up one open mike night and discovered something magical: here were people, albeit drunks, who wanted to hear what he had to say. One stammering performance led to another as a lifetime of observations poured forth. Before long, other comics were starting to notice Will. And to watch him in with the kind of amazement one feels after discovering a diamond in a bit of elephant dung. Spurred by their encouragement he began to hone his act to the delight of all who saw him.
Before long Will found himself where he is now – one of the best unknown comics in the business. Which just goes to show: its the quiet ones you have to watch out for.
